This book is about the journey of the European explorers in the 15th century to find the Spice Islands, now known as the Banda Islands in Maluku. The story builds upon the historical records of the British expedition to the ship Swan, led by Captain Nathaniel Courthope ordered by King James I to look for spices to the Island Run (one of the islands in the Banda Islands).

This journey in those days was a very dangerous adventure, not only because of the explorers themselves did not know where the island to go, but also because the technology is still shipping old and no reliable map of the world so that each rover will then draw their own maps . At the time of spices known as 'green gold' has a very high value in Europe. One bag of spices alone can make a person rich life.

The Portuguese who in the 14th century have been landed in Banda but was unable to establish their own trade, this is encouraging other countries to find a path to Banda. Nathaniel Courthope travel story contains many lessons of history to understand the past and came to their future.
