Preliminary
Eastern Indonesia faces many development challenges are highly complex, especially with regard to poverty and food security. Food security problems are not only related to food security issues but also issues of food quality. Food quality associated with food processing by-end consumer, which since the commencement of crops are still cultivated by farmers. This is the biological significance of the concept of resilience or biosecurity, biosecurity reasons related to food security and quality of life of people in eastern Indonesia.
The main question is how do we further the challenge, taking into account cultural diversity, and the remoteness of the region as well as the distribution of the population in this vast area?
One of the factors that cause congestion in the handle and align the programs related to biosecurity in eastern Indonesia is the issue of information sharing between government, academia, NGOs, donors, and community, especially the information about the successes and failures of the program is implemented. Limited access to communication facilities can also impede development, especially due to the difficulty of obtaining information and knowledge needed.
Maluku province, as a province of the archipelago has its own uniqueness. Challenges faced by the Province of Maluku be doubled due to geographical factors. Maluku provincial government has attempted to answer these challenges through regional management approaches force the Island, Sea Island area, and door Plural with growth centers that serve as a public service centers, trade centers, as well as traffic flow of goods and services (Ralahalu, 2010) . Maluku provincial government has also established 12 groups Island as a public service clusters. The 12-island group needs to be optimized existence.
This needs to be optimized through the role of human resources to manage the local potential. On this side of the engagement of researchers and research results are needed in the formulation of development policies. In terms of biosecurity, it is necessary to optimize and increase the effectiveness of biosecurity program.
As a business built on the idea of the situation, then this seminar and workshop held in Ambon. With the main objective to discuss the development of strategic direction related to biosecurity. This seminar also functions as a vehicle for a meeting between the stakeholders (stakeholder) issues related to biosecurity in the Moluccas.
Implementation of seminars and workshops to coincide with the event Sail Banda, in order to support the study of aspects of biosecurity in the archipelago.

- The results of the next workshop will be submitted to the Governor and Deputy Governor of Maluku, Planning, Department of Agriculture, University of Pattimura, and AusindoBiocom.
