On the day Monday, March 1, 2010, Theofransus Litaay , lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Research PSKTI SWCU , has presented his research results in biosecurity GLOBAL CONFERENCE 2010 at the Brisbane Convention Centre , Brisbane, Australia. The theme of biosecurity GLOBAL CONFERENCE 2010 is the "Safeguarding agriculture and the environment." The conference was attended by more than 400 participants from 20 countries in the world to highlight the problem of biosecurity from various disciplines including science, engineering, statistics, economics, sociology, law and policy. Theo Litaay presentation topic is "Policy and Legal Framework for Managing Biosecurity (Indonesian Perspective)." In the presentation, Theo Litaay convey that characteristic of public policy-heavy legislation in Indonesia will be effective if supported by a democratic political system and the rule of law, included in the formulation of biosecurity policies that need to involve the community. Challenges faced in the management of biosecurity in Indonesia is on the skill, capacity, policy, and the influence of regional autonomy. Therefore, the necessary policy reforms and strengthening partnerships. This presentation is one of the results of research in PSKTI SWCU .
